HYO JIN - The styles of oriental and occidental.

BAE HYO JIN
KOREAN
THE OBJECT > The styles of oriental and occidental.

I selected this because I always wanted to express the fashion mixed with oriental style and occidental style. Because there are already so many occidental designs. To create a fresh design, we must concern oriental details and cultures. I had long period, having interests in the oriental design. Especially, to create a “Korean style”.

I think it is important to consider about people who used to use the oriental style back in old period of era. First of all, let’s think about the life of the oriental people. It was very calmness. And they keep always their composure. We can see their expressions of being calm and composure, for example, in teacups which are very small, and from Indian-ink drawings.

These show us that Orientals are very intimate with nature. For example, things made with strews, and other examples that I already presented in previous paragraph. All the oriental fashion, reflect all these examples. They have many spaces in their clothes.

So at the end, the key word of my opinion is oriental details with examples such as embroidery, an Indian-ink and writing brush… etc. This is why I think I should use these ideas also for designs.

MY THREE KEY-WORDS

- Composure and calmness
- Nature
- Oriental details (embroidery, Indian-ink, writing brush....)
